Here are just some pictures of Cairo that i thought you would like to see. Cairo's population is 20 million. Its like the 2nd most populated city in the world. As you can see from the traffic driving can be pretty crazy. The people here do not drive in lanes they drive where ever they can fit on the road. Beleive it or not i only saw one accident while i was there and it was a little fender bender i was surprised that i didn't see any more. Also everybody here hangs their clothes outside to dry probably because it like hardly ever rains here.
It is really dirty in Cairo. As you can see from the picture of the canal. The streets were just as bad. The sad thing is that people actually live in this. It really made me sad to see the living conditions of the people that lived here. There are a lot of very poor people that live here. My heart went out to them especially all the little children and the really old grandmas and grandpas that had to work in the fields and cut down their crop by hand. I felt really blessed for what i had when i was here.

Just another picture of what the daily life for the people that live here in Cairo. It was very very common to see donkies and horses as the peoples main way of transportation. It in alot of ways made me feel like i had stepped back in time. It really is a different world for a lot of the people that live here. In America we own horses and donkies for pets or for recreation. In Egypt they own them to sustain life. They use them as transportation they use them to help in their fields. It is a necessity for them.
Here is a picture that i took of one of the many fields that i saw. Alot of time there would be men, woman, grandparents, and children out with machetis cutting down the fields. They do not have the modern technology for harvesting crops and even if they did they probably don't have the money to buy this modern technology. Like i said before i really was felt sad for these people. We really have it very very good in the United States. We should always be thankful for what we have. The United States is a wonderful place to live. I know i have said this before but we are so very blessed to live there. I feel so blessed to have the things that i have. I might not have the best car in the world but i bet the people here would just die for any kind of car. Before you start complaining about what you don't have think of all the blessings that you do have.
So as you can see i have another picture of a pyramid. this is actually the first pyramid ever built. As you can see it is a step pyramid and this is what gave the idea for the design of the great pyramids. This is the pyramid of the Pharoah Zoser.

Here is me and TerryAnn in front of the hand of a statue of Ramses II. This shows just how big the statue is. This statue is one of two. This one is actually not fully intact. The one that is intact is going to put in the front of the museum that they are going to be building in Cairo over by the great pyramids. I really loved this statue because i was able to get really close to see all the detail in the carving. It was trully magnificent to see the workmanship of the Egyptians.

This is a close up of Ramses II face. I thought it was beautiful. I can just imagine the time that it took to carve something like this out of stone and this is just one of the many other statues of Ramses II that exist all over Egypt. Not to mention all the other marvelous statues and temples etc. It was just so amazing to me.

that's is so neat. I love those pictures of Ramses. They were a very cool and surprisingly advanced culture. It's neat how many spiritual things you are witnessing while you are there. I think that it's a verification of that we were given the promise land.
